As I recall the news stories at the time, she died of unadulterated stupidity. The 'dozer had a 5 ft high blade, and the driver couldn't see her. I mean, how stupid do you have to be to get run over by a 10 ton machine moving at 2 mph? A snail could have gotten out of the way.

I once knew a guy who was missing the tips of both index fingers. His story was that when he and his brother were 10 or 12 years old, they were splitting some kindling. The younger brother was holding a piece of wood, and jokingly put both fingers on the faggot. He thought his brother would intentionally miss with the axe, and his brother thought the kid would move his fingers. Oops.

Standing in front of a bulldozer doesn't even have the excuse of a friendly misunderstanding, it's just pure-dee stupid.
