1. I would like to say I picked the Belmont winner. Not even close. When they called his name, I had to look at my program to make certain he'd been on it. <G> But, it was another great ride for Martin Garcia. 2. UCLA vs. Arizona in softball. I like the Bruins. I was hoping the Rainbows would make the finals, too, but Arizona was too much for them. I thought Georgia might get there, too, as they have about 8 women who are built like fireplugs and just blast the ball when they hit it. I like Arizona's style, too. And, no, I don't hold the racist law against them. Shoot, since they changed it, it is not that racist against citizens any more. I am not against arresting illegals. I am against harrassing Americans because of their skin color or accent. 3. BP deserves some credit for reducing the oil flow. But not allowing anyone else to check their numbers is insane. The Prez ought to be kicking their butts over that. 4. John Wooten died at age 99. I hope there was no foul play. <G> Great coach. What I like best was when he told his players: "when you leave an arena, nobody should be able to tell if you won or lost by looking at you." Basketball was important. Having the right perspective about the game in a young man's life was more important. The only living coach who has a chance to match his 10 NCAA Championships is Coach K at Duke, and I don't think it is much of a chance. It used to be so funny to see all of those UCLA wins and then see that one year that Texas Western won right smack dab in the middle of them. Texas Western is now UTEP.
