JackPot, that would be the 24 ghz licenses, with the added advantage of longer point to point capability. Unfortunately, for Teligent it is there only advantage. These guys are behind the curve. Time to market will be there undoing as long as Winstar can execute. The way the street is pricing this deal (Potentially valuing Teligent at close to a billion dollars) you would think that they actually owned a roof right somewhere in the world. According to the folks at Legg this deal will be a boon to Winstar folks . Clearly you would be better off with a company with revenue on the rise , an executed business plan and a market cap of 1.25 bil ( 50 mill outstanding x 25 apiece) than a company with no revs, and an untested business plan . Albeit there prospectus is clearly simple plagerism from Winstars documented sucess. This deal is only going to fly because Mandl is at the helm at Teligent. But what wireless experience does he have? I think he is in for a rude awakening. The only saving grace for Teligent could be the huge size of the untapped market the service. Estimated at 57 billion, there is clearly room for more than one player. The longer the Teligent ramp up takes the bigger the lead Winstar gets. There are many many obstacles ahead for Telligent.
