Greece's situation is nowhere near close to the US situation. Greece is a poor country, whereas US is not. Greece is so poor that they cannot send troops to fight wars in foreign lands. The US does have the money to send troops to fight overseas.

The US wealth is a by product of the US natural resources and the high productivity of the US worker. The wealth emanating from these should be used to improve the social fabric of US society through programs such as welfare, jobless benefits, universal health care, clean environment etc. Instead we blow our cash away in foreign wars and corporate welfare.

Reduce corporate welfare and use the funds to support personal welfare instead.
