Setting aside the racism for a minute, what she is claiming is that Israel is not a legitimate country and the best thing for all concerned is that the country be dismantled, the Jewish citizens purged, and turned into a Palestinian state. Helen Thomas' idea is as much an existential threat to the nation of Israel as Iran's nucs.

Is this idea being discussed in Manhattan, DC, Europe, and Riyadh behind closed doors among friends?

A lot of Lebanese immigrants took the name Thomas when they entered the U.S. Lebanese Americans have always resented Israel "stealing" Palestine from the Arabs.

Helen Thomas' parents were Lebanese immigrants.
