Very well said.

There have been commoners like Lal Bahadur Shastri and Jagjivan Ram and even the current PM. And the US has also elected a commoner as President in Obama.

But the disturbing trend in a democracy is the "clan" or "dynasty" concept. We have seen that happen i n the US recently with the Bush's and the Clinton's (almost).
