Anchor babies born to ILLEGALS?? I doubt that is one thing the framers ever considered possible [that our country would ever be flooded with millions upon millions of illegal freeloaders abusing the system]. I think that laws can be passed that would be constitutional. As Lincoln said, "The Constitution is not a suicide pact".

"Cannot change this. It is part of the 14th amendment to the constitution. Their lies the problem." This is an assumption, not a fact. The matter hinges on the meaning of the phrase "and subject to the jurisdiction thereof" in the 14th Amendment and the truth is the SCOTUS has never ruled on whether birthright citizenship applies to a child born here of parents who are here illegally. In the most recent relevant ruling (in 1898), which many assume to confer birthright citizenship of children of illegals, Wong Kim Ark was the son of Chinese citizens who were legal, permanent residents of California. The question of illegal immigration never came up.
