I pray to God that the nodes test clean.

I add my prayers to yours.

How old is your daughter?

Your family has had more than its fair share of health issues in recent years. You and the entire family are in our prayers Jeff.

(why is it doctors see fit to drop these announcements on a Friday when there is nothing to do but worry and stew?)

This is sad news to hear. I hope it was caught early. My hope and prayers are with you and your family as your daughter proceeds through the next tests. May God place his hands on her for a good result.

Hope is eternal and prayers can bring miracles.

Oh, gosh! Yes. But take heart; my cousin had it at a young age and survived.

I join the others here who will include your daughter and family in prayer.

I'm very thankful to report my Sweet Shirley underwent a very successful mastectomy on Thursday morning. Nodes all tested clean and the belief is they caught this beast early enough that she won't even require much followup. Her two daughters are "hovering" over her, so she's well cared for. Church ladies are sending over meals. She joked yesterday that she "could learn to live with this attention."

Hope you've all been holding up well over the weekend.

I know we have a tendency to think the worst, but there is a lot to be said for a positive outlook. I had cervical cancer when I was in my early 20s and I just knew I was going to be OK. We started our family soon afterwards, and I did my best to kick out a couple of kids before I had to go under the knife. I wanted more than two kids, and really, really prayed for a girl. I got two of the greatest sons alive, and when we were through with the messy business of ridding me of cancer, life went on. It's been a long, long time, but I remember being positive and how that got me through it all.

I will send out a message to my friend who is a member of a prayer chain. Your daughter will have a lot of people praying for her.

M

Jeff, everyone here knows having a sick child is the most frightening thing in the world. My daughter still lives with me and I know how special they are. Keep the faith and we will be praying for your girl.
