Gateway 2000 becomes internet service provider

NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D.,, Nov 5 (Reuters) - Gateway 2000 Inc
said Wednesday it is becoming a nationwide Internet
Service Provider (ISP).
The company said in a news release that starting November
10 customers ordering new personal computers will receive
systems configured to access the Internet through gateway.net.
It will offer the ISP for existing Gateway PC owners
beginning in early 1998.
The ISP is available to all new customers on modem-based
Gateway G-Series and GP-Series desktops, Destination Big Screen
PC/TVs and Destination Digital Media Computers.
Gateway.net will soon be offered on the Gateway Solo
portable PC line as well, the company said.
With gateway.net, users receive up to 30 hours online time
for only $12.95 a month. Customers can log on for additional
time for only $2.95 an hour, the statement said.
