I think if you want to stop them, you'll need to terrify employers with harsh sanctions so they won't hire them. But, (R)'s have never been willing to do that. Just treating them like a castigated lower class isn't going to work. I agree that serious penalties against employers would be a huge major step but blaming republicans is a red herring. It crosses party lines. You could just as easily blame democrats who rely on the illegal's votes to stay in power. Everybody's to blame.
