I doubt that Obama even knows what the "Samson Option" is.

The mullah's MO is to order Hizbullah to do their dirty work, not to try to get Persians to do it. They called in Hizbullah to suppress the Green demonstrations last year. The Basiji are not trained fighters, they are good for beating women in the street but no use in a modern war. They mullahs have the Revolutionary Guard and a conscript army. So far they have not acted as if they can trust the army beyond the Revolutionary Guard.

The regime is unpopular. I think they would not want to fight directly lest they be overthrown while their attention was diverted. As far as I can make out, most of the people are so sick of the regime that they are almost pro-Israel just because the regime is so anti-Israel. But what happens if fighting breaks out and Israel bombs the nuke sites, I have no idea.
