<Politics> [taken from Mario's link] President Nursultan Nazarbaev has appointed Nurlan Balgimbaev, the former minister of oil & gas who has recently been the president of KazakhOil, Kazakhstan s new Prime Minister. Nurlan Balgimbaev was born on November 20, 1947. He studied mining engineering at Kazakh Polytechnical Institute, graduating in 1973. His service record covers a story from being a drilling operator to being the head of the oil & gas sector. In 1992-1993 he studied at the University of Massachusetts in Boston. He later received on-site training at a Chevron Facility in San Ramon, CA in 1993-1994.
