It seems that the misconception USR had to deal with has been pasted on to 3Com via the merger. That being USR was always seen by the street as a modem company, NOW 3Com is being seen the same way, as a, modem company...which they never were before.

I also have trouble in mustering much concern about ASND cutting prices after seeing 3Com gain market share when Intel did the same thing earlier this year.

And Cisco stepping into the consumer market is like watching a one legged man walk a tightrope.

My focus is more on what 3Com said they planned on doing, working in from the edges...thus putting pressure on the competition. The actions of ASND,CSCO & others is the result of this. IMO
