Huh? When did Jindal become a liberal? Mary Matalin? What I saw Jindal saying to the federal government was "get the hell out of the way so we can fix the problem". Well I guess you missed the part where he was saying "help us, help us, help us". Jindal is waiting for the federal government allow the barrier islands to be deployed to save the sensitive coastal areas. Why did Jindal wait til the last minute when it would do the4 least amount of good? After all, the possiblity of an oil spill is not some new revelation. The problem with liberals is that they think that nobody but them is qualified to solve their own problems. Further, liberals don't understand that when the government solves problems for individuals that the individuals should be solving for themselves, they remove the ability of those individuals to take care of themselves in the future and therefore make them veritable wards of the state. My fellow liberals frequently don't wait for the gov't to help us. We raise money and plant trees on our own. We develop parks.....clean riverbeds.....establish community gardens. You name it we do it. What benefits to society do conservatives provide without the prodding of gov't? Just askin'. If you wanted that kind of country, you all should have stuck with the 13 colonies and called it a day. No, if you wanted to live in a socialist country you should have moved to the USSR.....too bad they collapsed as an economic and social disaster....oops. Let me repeat the numbers......310 million people in 50 states and over 2 million sq mile of land does not lead to small gov't. Sorry.
