Guess the old bat has served her purpose. Now we can wait for the NYT Op Ed telling us about "Left Wing Anti-Semitism." Don't hold your breath. It will all be, "Nothing to see here folks, Helen was an aberration."

"THEN we get the coverage and general commentary." I got the distinct feeling that a lot of people were looking around to see how the other person reacted, nobody willing to stick their neck out. That, in and of itself, is a bad sign. Gives me the uneasy feeling that if someone influential had come out with "you go, girl" a lot of out of the closet remarks might be getting serious air time. Especially with the current administration apparently inclined in that direction, providing cover and sanction, always mindful of the message it is sending (or so I've heard). Elroy's idea that Jew hating is a thing of the past just tells me he isn't paying attention or has lived off shore in a completely different culture for a long time. I don't understand it but I run into it quite regularly right here on SI. ARS
