I liked this comment: The American society and the laws of economics are flexible enough to absorb incompetence to a point. Eventually, if this incompetence continues, both our society and our economy will break as we will see. In contrast, the laws of physics, as displayed in the gulf, are immune to obama's rhetoric and are emboldened by his lack of ability to harness a coherent and intensive plan to deal with the fallout of the oil spill. How difficult can it be to create a strategy that includes a multi-discipline approach/tiger teams to A) protect the coast; B) rescue the flora and fauna affected by the oil; C) capture, contain and dispose of the oil in the water and on the land; and, most importantly, D) bring world-wide capabilities to stop the leak. Blame, legal action and legislation can wait. This is crisis management 101 that every seasoned manager knows instinctively. obama could then deliver regular briefings on major milestones and tactics to overcome identified challenges to give us confirmation that leadership is doing their job. Sound familiar? We all do it at our jobs. Instead, we are exposed to swinging the pendulum between 19th century management (e.g., "boot on the neck" or "committee to identify whose a$% to kick") and dispassionate aloofness of the '70s. This is the style that unionists and leftist radicals believe is leadership. This style is the future of a nation that is center led by a bloated government. obama revealed.
