>Simple. You are trying to take something from me.

I think we need to face one thing squarely: gun owners are not part of the new social vision. We're at a disadvantage here. The team which is saying that gun owners' rights come second to a gunproofed society has most of the field.
It is incumbent on us, the voices of the Resistance, to be civil, considerate and deliberate in all we say. Otherwise've already lost, on style alone. Being [probably] right doesn't redeem an agressive approach.

I've really opened a can of worms by sneaking the gun ownership topic in here. I was hoping that the issue could be engaged in a mutually respectful manner. Maybe then we'd be able to perform our own logic tests on the premises we uncovered. But a repeated incantation of scripture is not very accommodating. I was hoping that I could understand Christine's objections to legal weapon ownership, and that I could present my own reasons in a comprehensible way. I'm being undermined by the entrenched zeal of those who would be counted on my side.
Let's return to the issues, or let's abandon the topic. This is my request.
