When you can decide on what you think "Middle Class" should be then we can expect to settle the argument....

But if we go with my suggestion of median income, as you wrote:

In 1955 the median family income was $4,418, and the marginal tax rate on that much income was 22%

(Actually I see the chart says "24%", not 22%, for Head of Household for that year....)

So... WHAT is median income level for the year 2010?

(I see your same chart reporting "15%" for Head of Household in 2010, up to an income of $45,550... and switching over to the 25% bracket there....)
