RE Compaq-- Compaq's newly aquired company , Microcom, had a nearly full page add in the Boston Globe Jobs section. They are looking for Engineers, etc (primarily Wide Area Network specialties). If they need a WAN/RAS company NOW, then they might look to ASND. It does look like they want to do it on their own, via Microcom. Microcom, is an old line modem company, which created some of the error checking and compression technologies, still in use today. Don't know how far they have progressed into the other areas. Once again, they were talking about Compaq's Tandem division, which is a database-server company. (I worked on a Tandem System for 7 years. ) Regards, Mardy.
