In his defense (and Boehner is a corrupt ward heeling corporist hack if there ever was one), he didn't say the government should pay. The Feds ARE supposed to be overseeing the clean up but they keep trying to defer to BP for this (which is obviously a political mistake of the highest order).

OK. Now that we know the GOP wants the taxpayer to pick up the tab for the BP spill,
