You mean in the current spill? No, it won't. There aren't any structural corals in that part of the Gulf. Do you mean from Ixtoc? Well, assuming that happened, and I don't know that for a fact, you have made yet another incredibly stupid statement.


There are two clusters of coral in the western Gulf that experienced damage from the spill. Notably, populations of the marine animals that inhabit the reefs were down significantly 9 mos after the spill:

I would have explained that to inode but really.......why bother? He's in the same party as Minority Leader Boehner who just this AM said he felt that taxpayers should pay for the spill beyond what the current law allows no matter that its likely BP was negligent and caused the spill. Apparently, Boehner is now back pedaling from that statement, but its indicative of the R mindset. So why bother to explain to inode the importance of corral reef to the GOM ecology? It would only fall on deaf ears.
