I believe we need to put troops between Palestnians and Israelis. It is to maintain stability and security in the ME. That's what we do in S. Korea, that is what we do w/Japan w/a base there to ward off China, that's what we do in Latin America to checkmate left wing governments. Israel/Palestine is no different. We have strategic interests there of far more importance, we can have an additional buffer against the Iranians and a presence to ensure oil from Saudi Arabia. So, it is a move to secure American interests whether or not the Israelis like it. And it would be an ideal place to gather intelligence on the ground against terrorists. By the way, we already have a base in Turkey.
