re: "Campaign contributions -- important as they are -- may not
be the biggest factor forcing pro-Israel conformity. Zionist
control of most of the mainstream media is at least as important IMHO."

=======================================================

While America is voting with it's feet, it's wallets,
and it's remote controls - by rejecting the "monopoly
owned," mainstream propaganda press... even with scores
of old media newspapers going bankrupt, and with ratings
collapsing for their television & radio properties, they are
now attacking the rise of the alternative media by
resurrecting the Fairness Doctrine, using the FCC as
a political weapon, proposing the open censorship of the
internet, licensing journalists, and allowing the government
to put disclaimers and pop ups with counter-messages on
alternative media sites.

Fighting the propaganda from the "monopoly owned," mainstream
media is a long, drawn out process. Campaign finance reform
is immediate. I've written about this before...

Do you remember what Senator Dick Durbin, (Dem-IL) said
while trying to pass financial reform?

"And the banks -- hard to believe in a time when we're facing
a banking crisis that many of the banks created -- are still
the most powerful lobby on Capitol Hill. And they frankly own
the place."

While AIPAC is the most powerful lobby in Washington, with
the bankers #2, in case you think Durbin was exaggerating
about the influence of the lobbyists, here's a great site
detailing how lobbyists have literally bought and paid for
Congress...

voteview.com

And here's how big the problem is...

There are 15,000 registered lobbyists in Washington D.C.,
which means there are 30 lobbyists for every single Senator
and Congressman in Washington.

And those 15,000 paid lobbyists spend on average $6.5 million
dollars per each member of Congress, who make on average, about
$175k per year.

Do the math...

30 to 1, and $6,500,000.00 to $175k.

You pay them $175k a year, and the lobbyists are throwing
$6.5 million at them. Who do you think they're going to
listen to? Especially when the lobbyists dangle higher
paying jobs as lobbyists, or with NGO's and policy
Think Tanks, if they get voted out of office.

There's no downside for them in ignoring the people when they
are guaranteed higher paying jobs if they get voted out of office.

Why do you think they rolled over to reform 16% of the U.S.
economy, when 85% of all Americans were perfectly satisfied
with the present US healthcare system?

Why do you think they went ahead with the bankster bailout
when calls and emails were 60:1 against the bill?

Why do you think they passed the Waxman-Markey Cap & Trade
energy bill in the House without ever reading it, when the
public was over-whelmingly against it?

Here's a reality check on how broken our system is.

Did you know that 94% of all legislation passed by the U.S.
Senate is written by lobbyists, is done so in secrecy ( in
committee), and is passed without a vote, and without any
public discussion, or debate?

Shocked?

You should be…

The process is called “unanimous consent” and you can learn
all about it in this quick 5 minute CNN video.

youtube.com

If you think the system is working when the US Senate rubber
stamps 94% of all legislation without reading bills written
in secret committee by paid lobbyists, you're living in a
child-like state of denial.

And it's both parties.

The solution is to address both problems, to push for campaign
finance reform now... and to keep voting against the propaganda
press by cancelling your subscriptions to their newspapers and
magazines, by not watching their television news programs,
propagandized story-line television shows, and writing their
sponsors to voice your disapproval and continuing to vote with
your wallets and your feet. And above all, by fighting tooth
and nail against this fascist push for Orwellian control of
the media and the internet.
