I have big doubts that they can sustain a debt-to-GNP ratio of over 200% like they have no matter *how* high their savings rate is supposed to be.

(PARTICULARLY without population growth --- and they have one of the oldest demographics in the world. And ESPECIALLY paying just 0.5% or less on time deposits. And their economy has been flirting with deflation and zero or even negative growth rates for over a decade already....)
