I didn't pay 55. I bought at 21, sold some at 38, sold more at 57, and bought it all back last week at 41.

Most people don't have a clue as to how options work. One of the best trades I ever made was buying Iomega Feb97 50s for 3/16 when the stock was around 15. Got 11/16 for them when they moved to the NYSE. Stock only made it to 27, but the calls were almost a 4 bagger. I remember more than a few people telling me I was crazy to think it would go to 50 by then. So who needed that? Of course I had a little more time to expiry than you do.
