Paul E. Still hold your AMD stock?

Perhaps you better dump out tomorrow, else it looks like you may suffer a lose in spite of buying at $13 per share.

Joey - Re: "It appears that AMD's yield problem is much more serious than analysts/investors/OEMs had thought. "

Maybe yes, maybe no.

This story just doesn't hold water, in my opinion. Indeed, there may be some yield problem, but I think the UNDERLYING PROBLEM THAT AMD IS HIDING is that they have no large customers for their K6.

IBM seems to be buying a few wafers and using them in low cost PCs, DEC bought a few, etc.

But all the major manufacturers are buying their large voluimes of CPUs from good ol' Intel.

Plain and simple.

AMD has few customers for their K6 except for the CyberSmash, FrogLeap, DragStar, Liguiski Computers and Potatoes Corp.

Bear in mind that just two days ago AMD announced a new "Boxed Processor" program. Why would they announce a new K6 product line when they can't satisfy demand for their existing K6 product line?

Something is FISHY in the Sunnyvale White House!
