We've got to stop the gusher first. Then we have to deal with the other issues. There's a lake at the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico that's over 100 miles wide and at least 400 to 500 feet deep of black oil. It's just staying there. Didn't Brumar already disprove this claim with 1 line of basic arithmetic? Matt Simmons is one of the foremost experts on oil. While some are doubting his current findings, I would recommend listening to him before Brumar......not that I'm saying Brumar is a slouch. However, the difference between the two is like the difference between a Hawkings and a professor of physics. We should have been pumping this oil out onto other tankers weeks ago. Do you not think BP would have been doing precisely this if they were capable of doing so? BP spent a lot of time trying to figure out what they wanted to do. Hindsight is 20/20 but many were/are saying that the mud/junk shot was a wasted effort. As far back as April 29, BP was asking the federal government for help with the spill. Link please. And even if they were, what could the gov't have done for them that it wasn't already doing? Obama has been almost catatonic in his lack of response to this crisis. The instant BP asked for help, it was clear they were beyond their capabilities. Only in your fervently partisan imagination. Here we are two months later and all Obama has is oil company hate speech. His pack of intellectuals sit around pouring sand over their peckers while the oil continues to flow. When are you going to realize such irrelevant prattle does nothing for you or your party? Americans may not be in love with Obama and the Dems but they are so down on Rs, I think it may take at least a decade for the party to come back if at all.
