I didn't see any telecom players mentioned which gets me thinking about exactly how they plan to provide voice services. Would that be Voice Over IP (truely revolutionary on this scale) or will the ADSL core hubs interface with an existing PBX? Sounds like they are building centralized servers/gateways off-site and on-site.

The good news is that there are lots of ways xDSL use can grow without waiting for normally slow-moving RBOC's. Perhaps if they see they're losing business to alternatives they will move faster. I presume Aware will benefit from expanded xDSL activity because of increased sales by its licensees. You should be able to apply this same model to apartment complexes, office buildings, hospitals, college campuses, etc.

How this particular proposal affects Aware is not clear to me. I suppose it depends on 3Com and the core ADSL vendor. Does 3Com have/need ADSL licensing from anyone else? Isn't the 3Com agreement with Aware a little different? Hmmm ... so many questions.
