Company Press Release

Telegroup Uses Saville CBP for Oracle as Competitive Weapon Against Incumbent PTT's Around the World

Saville's Convergent Customer Care and Billing Solution Will Support Telegroup's Aggressive Growth Strategy into the Worldwide Telecom Market

BURLINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 24, 1997-- Telegroup, Inc. (NASDAQ:TGRP - news), a leading global alternative provider of long distance telecommunications services, has selected Saville Systems' (NASDAQ:SAVLY - news) Convergent Billing Platform (CBP)(tm) for Oracle to support its anticipated future growth in the global telecom market. Saville's convergent customer care and billing solutions help customers quickly enter new markets - often within hours -
and capture market share by providing high-quality customer service and offering one-stop telecom shopping to customers worldwide.

Telegroup is the first customer to implement Saville's newly unveiled product, which enables telecom companies to quickly deploy convergent customer care and billing solutions on UNIX platforms. Saville CBP has the capability to enable Telegroup to bring new services to market and enter newly deregulated markets more quickly.

Saville's system will be implemented at Telegroup in 1998. Telegroup is consolidating its separate billing systems onto Saville CBP to provide it with the flexibility to compete globally. Saville CBP will enable Telegroup to combine charges for Internet, voice and data services on a single convenient bill, while keeping all customer
information in an integrated, easily accessible repository for fast customer service. It will also provide Telegroup with multi-currency and flexible language capabilities, enabling them to bill customers in their native currency.

Since it was founded in 1989, Telegroup has grown from a U.S. domestic long distance services reseller to a facilities-based international telecommunications provider with switches located in major cities throughout the world. Today the company provides international and domestic calling, toll-free services and calling cards to retail customers in 180 countries. Telegroup's commitment to providing high quality customer service and an easy-to-read and understandable invoice, along with superior overall rates, has resulted in rapid expansion and won Telegroup a place on Inc. magazine's list of the 500 fastest growing companies in America for the past three years.

''We see convergent customer care and billing as key elements in our ability to attract and retain customers. Saville will help ensure our growth success by enabling us to provide customers with one-stop shopping and an integrated invoice for all their telecom services,'' said Cliff Rees, President and CEO of Telegroup. ''We selected Saville because we need a high quality, highly functional solution. Saville CBP best met our requirements.''

Telegroup has deployed its services to the U.S., Europe and Asia through its Telegroup Intelligent Global Network(tm) of switches. These switches enable the company to offer customers call-through services with quality and speed comparable to those offered by incumbent PTTs, often at substantially lower rates.

''As a leading international telecom carrier, Telegroup realizes the value of delivering the best possible service and products to customers. The company's focus on customer care and satisfaction is completely in line with the Saville CBP product strategy, and should support Telegroup's efforts to capture even greater market share as it extends its reach throughout the world,'' said Jack Boyle, Saville's president and CEO.
