Who cares about the retiree's in jolly old England, especially in a oil company? Nobody cared about the dividends for shareholders in every major financial institution in the US? Once the divvy is gone, most of the systemic risk in BP shares will offset the potential damages.

Hi tom.

"And the retirees here and in the UK who depend on the dividends"

Didn't you just provide yourself with the answer?

Or have we entered a new paradigm where investment risk is liquidated by the government now?
