I have seen it suggested, and have not seen any way to totally rule it out, but I suspect it was not sabotage.

The fire and destruction of the rig could have been (but IMO was probably not) related to sabotage, the failure of the blowout preventer? Well I supposed it could have been sabotaged somehow before it was put in place, but that seems unlikely by itself (and it worked in earlier tests), and even more unlikely in combination with the destruction of the rig. You have two points that both have to be sabotaged, and both have to go undetected and then work at the right time.
