I’d rather not blame presidents for what you/I/we have brought upon ourselves. The world is billions of years old and we live in the most advanced civilization on record. We have science that has gone leaps and bounds beyond anything imagined even a few generations ago. In the USA we have a combined law enforcement, military, and weaponry that dwarfs the rest of the world all combined, but before you shake your pom poms notice also we have one of the highest, if not the highest crime rate. We have forgotten how to live as decent human beings because we worship material and material science above all else. There is no scientific principle accounting for responsibility because responsibility is not science. Science and the technical advances produced by science are based on laws of physical nature and in physical nature there is no such thing as mercy or compassion. We, and we alone were so endowed with the structures of human spirit but we have abandoned our nobler nature for things more attractive. Thousands of years ago, or even recently in isolated tribal systems we can observe human beings who know how to live in the world. We don’t need a model though since it is written across every individual human being’s heart.
