Well, not exactly. When the incompressible liquid is removed from the reservoir rocks they may collapse a bit as the porosity goes to zero. There has been subsidence observed in Long Beach and the sea floor of North Sea and other places, but as far as I know these have all been shallow reservoirs and it occurred over a long time. I can't imagine how subsidence could be a problem at Macombo at this point in time.
