Your junior laggards are more the kind of stocks that interest me... the kind that move on their own timetable, not necessarily in step with GDX/XAU/HUI. I prefer to buy them at extremes of undervaluation when they are being ignored by the market in exchange for similar ones that have just made a nice rally.

OTOH, SLW is the ultimate GDX/XAU/HUI trader's stock. My view is that GDX/XAU/HUI stocks move up and down as a group and that there is relatively little advantage in trading one for another... although there are advantages to choosing one over another to be the stock or stocks you use to trade.

Right now I am not into laggards at all. I want leaders and the mo mo. If we hit a gold bull I think they will continue to outperform.

I added KGI for their potential growth and earnings to come soon I think.

ANV, NGD, OGC for example.
