You hit it right on the head. Out here in the civilized
world, Iomega has become the defacto standard with >9
million Zips and >2 millions Jaz drives installed, while
SYQT is clamoring to get into a country that cannot
even guarantee electrical power (forget about phone lines)
to its "feudal" citizens.

What next, Syquest? An announcement about schools in
Bangladesh?

Regards,
Kunal

>>Can I assume that since you quoted this, you have some reason to beleive that the schools "all over China" have the electrical infastructure to power PC's, and that the overall hits the far east economies have been taking will allow them to continue construction on the long term hydroelectric generation plans currently on paper to put electricitity thru out the country.<<

Good question. I'd suggest you write to Mr. Lui Xue Ta and put the question to him.

>>Either way, if Beijing proper is just now getting on line, it seems a stretch to think that schools throughout a "feudal" country will deploy PC technology on such a wide spread basis.<<

IMHO China knows they need to get up to speed WRT (with respect to) technology. They can't do that if they can't provide power to their schools.
