Oil will flow until it is balanced by the water pressure. This is precisely why the well is being allowed to flow now. There seems to be damage to the casing, so it is imperative to keep the oil flowing while capturing as much of it as possible. Once pressure is equalized, things will be stable. The oil won't flow. There is no reason for the pressure to become negative so as to bring in seawater into the formation.
