marc tends to be early, and he admits so, by 6 months to a year

in the mean time, just in in-tray

player 1: Given Chris' take on Obama, I would just add the following from a meeting I had yesterday with someone closely connected in DC, but who works on Wall Street, and he told me the following:

Senator Dodd and Senator Corker had originally cobbled together a Financial Reform Bill that would likely garner 80 votes from both sides of the aisle. When Dodd informed the White House of the agreement, he was instructed to go back and introduce specific language into the bill that would reduce the numbers voting for Financial Reform to 60, and driving off almost all the Republican votes. Why? Because the Obama White House wants the Republicans to be seen as in the pockets of Wall Street. So it isn't about good policy, but about good politics.

Why would Dodd agree to do such a thing? The rumor is that when his term is up, he will be appointed to an Ambassadorship position........likely Ireland. Certainly would be convenient since he has a "cottage" on 10 acres there!!

player 2: Shocking, the left plays hardball....but the fault is ours.... We let bush get away with too much in spending... So we set up the left to come in..

player tj: evil, obama, pure rot

player 3: Just great send me your retches.. .thats exactly what this island needs another white haired, drunken, living on the dole, cheating, sneaking, know it all, big mouth, new zealand here I come.....

if you know where his ten acres is... let me know.. would love to have a little walk and perhaps relieve myself there. Its probably a deal he got through anglo irish and nama.... using his retirement funds and pensions we all paid for.. bastards.......

player 1: OK, here you go:

The story starts in 1994, when the Senator became one-third owner of a 10-acre estate, then valued at $160,000, on the island of Inishnee on Galway Bay. The property is near the fashionable village of Roundstone, a well-known celebrity haunt.

And this link has a picture of the house, so you'll know that you're at the right place....

player 3: Thanks .. I will find a pub close by, spend the afternoon at the carvery filling up, and get a few Guinies in me before heading over... ha.
