Wharfrat says Obama is right of center. Then he sold us folks who are left of center a bill of goods. Obama campaigned on a left of center platform.

Lots of label talking....it means nada to me.

He promised we liberals the changes we were looking for e.g. closing down Gitmo, a return to the rule of law, ending don't ask, dont' tell, getting us out of war, taking care of the torturers, reigning in wall street, a public option, helping main street, creating jos and a new engery grid, and a substantive change from Bush's neo con policies.

And he's in various stages of getting those things done. The only thing he's backed down on to a degree is Gitmo.......hardly the end of the world.

So maybe we should find a new candidate for 2012. A left of center candidate. Like we did with LBJ.

You'll never get him or her elected and you know it.

I don't want a right of center president. I want a left of center president and that is what Obama indictated he was.

If this is what you believe, then you are a silly man and I will stop posting with you. Your position is pure nonsense.

Obama is a corporate CENTRIST -- look at his actions and look who is working for him. And btw, Clinton was a corporate CENTRIST too.

If you listen to some on FoxNews you'd think Obama was "a Socialist" or the most liberal president we've ever had...far from it...If Obama was really far to the left he would have pushed aggressively for Single Payer for Health Care reform instead of doing deals with Big Pharma and private health insurance providers. If Obama was really so Liberal he would have folks like Krugman and Stiglitz working on economic policy - and Wall Street "reform" would look a little different. If Obama was a progressive and far to the left he would never choose the most conservative former Democratic Senator (Salazar) to be in charge of the Interior Department - Salazar has been a friend of Big Oil for a long time and doesn't believe in strong regulation...and we know if Obama was far to the "left" he would never have escalated the reckless and counter-productive war over in Afghanistan.
