He used the word 'We' which is inclusive, and he is right. We do not have the fortitude within our population to face up to the unique challenges of this generation, consequently we are crumbling in every societal domain. We don't deal with serious issues that threaten the very definition of community and culture but we spend our dwindling resources trying to make people feel better about the housing bubble. We are wimpish where personal responsibility is called for and grotesquely aggressive in casting blame, kicking-the-dog, finding a scapegoat, all while arrogantly hiding behind some grandiose group identity of slogans and dogma. Historically each generation in the USA has had to muster the resources to deal with unique challenges, while carving out and building a nation. We brag about the heroism of our ancestry too much because there is nothing in modern times to compare. We look for bale outs, entitlements, and the treadmill of identity politics and politically correct euphemism to define who we are. In the mean time 200m orphans, 33b dollar human trafficking industry, millions of rapes and assaults, unsafe streets, economic collapse, death and dying from treatable disease and poverty, expanding global war under an anti-war president, etc all to the tune of "Baa Baa Rainbow Sheep."
