IBM announces $999 computer...another nail in the coffin...pricing is becoming very competitive...the pc is becoming more and more of a commodity...prices won't suddenly go back up...gtw is bleeding money right now...what about the future?...the isp world is even more of the same low margin, make no money kind of business...there is ample evidence of this...the only question is what someone might pay for gtw...anyone have any idea?

Al, Because HK is down 5% already, Japan 4% and Globex S&P's are getting the poop kicked out of them. Unless some new direction happens by morning it will be the start of something bad in the US markets. And if it is, Monday will be much worse. AOL was down 5 afterhours, Intel has a meeting about their life, IBM has sub grand boxes, CPQ cut prices, MSFT has Chairman Orin Hatch (of Utah home of WordPerfect) on their case ... do you want me to continue?

When you wake up, find out where the S&P's are trading. There is a lock limit down at 15 points. So if it is at down 15 hang on to your hat. The lock limit down is a trading halt - who knows where the real price is once it kicks in.

Regards, Dan
