<<<Although, fundamentaly, it is still trading at very high multiples when you consider the major UNCERTAINTY over earnings for the near future...>>>

Do you live under a rock? Or are you just ASND bashing (short) without any foundation? Ashby (CFO) stated to the analysts and news services on Tues. that ASND would hit the analyst consensus estimate of .23 and $290M for the quarter and would hit estimates of $1.15 - $1.20 for 1998.

What more do you want, a written Fuc^%**# guarantee?

Mark:

you state:
> fundamentally, it is still trading at very high multiples

Despite the fact that I believe in the future uncertainly surrounding the earnings for ASND, in addition to being very upset with ASND's management and overall how this stock has behaved, I have to disagree with you on this! If you compare ASND to either of CSCO and COMS (or for that matter even BAY) the company is ridiculously undervalued especially when they have sworn (!) they will meet the 5%-10% (at least) sequential growth quarter after quarter for the next 2 quarters! The only reasons this stock is being punished so badly are (in the order):

1. Horrible public relations on behalf of the management
2. Insider selling - (but this after thinking it over I for one at leat have come to the conclusion that should not really be of any concern.).
3. The perception that management is not being upfront with the shareholders and somehow is not being truthful. Again after thinking it over, lets say it is the case! However considering that it was the new CFO who talked about the sequential growth I have come to believe that he is too new and fresh to be caught by lies (if any) that were told by the established management before. In otherwords he would not say anything unless he was sure of it himself!
4. The perception that somehow Cisco is taking the market share away from ASND. However I believe this to be just a wrong impression. For one thing networking will be growing so rapidly that there will be huge money for all (heck even BAY) to be made. This will especially become true as Sun Microsystem's thin client/server centric computing model is taking off as we speak and will be speeding at an unimaginable rate in 98!

Also If anyone thinks that ASND is not oversold, they must have been in koma for the past few weeks (if not months)!

And last, keep in mind, fear is short lived while greed lasts much much longer. Take advantage market's fears in order to gain from its greed later!

Addi Jamshidi
