President Obama met with BP executives, told them how it was going to be, and BP quickly agreed.

Odd how the left says they aren't fascists or communists or mobsters but openly brag about the tactics they use...

"The entire thing was arranged well before the 20 minute meeting."

Well, which is it Dave? Is Obama "shaking down" BP or isn't he?

Under Wednesday's deal with the Obama administration, BP will suspend its dividend for the rest of 2010, freeing up $8 billion. The company also plans to raise $10 billion from selling some assets. Add cash lying around in bank accounts* and in short-term investments and BP could raise $25 billion without breaking much of a sweat.

What's more, BP is expected to generate $30 billion this year in operating cash flow, assuming oil prices don't fall.

I don't know who said this but they clearly don't have a clue.

In spite of R. protests, BP is the winner here. They put up NOTHING. $5 Billion won't even BEGIN to touch this problem (they've already spent close to 2B, if not more).

The BIG win is to fork over claims adjudication to an independent third party. Every time a claim was rejected, BP would have been bashed by the media. Now, it isn't their problem.

Most importantly, Obama didn't tell "them how it was going to be". He had no standing to do so.

The entire thing was arranged well before the 20 minute meeting.

Your post makes little sense. I will assume though that's its just more partisan negativity and isn't important.
