I'm beginning to really think that China demand is going to be a huge plus for the semi industry going forward. Don't know if it will show up soon or further out but we're seeing dramatic wage increases as workers gain strength and a new government 5 year plan that apparently emphasizes increasing domestic demand over just exports.

If we have a billion people becoming avid consumers of chip intensive products that could be a big tail wind for semis. Now with the increased production costs from increased wages etc. conceivably manufacturers could turn to cheaper ares but I doubt that. If China is increasingly going to be where the growing block of consumers are companies will want to keep their manufacturing nearby.

Also the manufacturing infrastructure will still be there even if the employees are making a little more instead of jumping off of buildings.
