I liked the Eveillard interview too.

Americans sometimes give the impression that they intend to be happy every day, hence the great number of psychiatrists and psychoanalysts. In a way, as a child I never expected to be happy any day as opposed to every day.

...and...

There is a difference between being patient and being stubborn. Being stubborn is no good. But being patient is good. But being patient is something that's hard to do. There has to be a willingness to move away from the herd - not systematically, because then you are only a contrarian - but whenever you think that the herd will eventually run over the cliff. And the truth is, it's warmer inside the herd."
