On MSNBC this morning, I listened to some conservative (R) Louisiana oil whore pol pathetically GROVEL for Obama to lift the moratorium on offshore drilling! Apparently, this cohort includes governor Bobby Jindal!

There are only 33 rigs involved in the moratorium out of 3000 rigs total in the Gulf. And some of those 33 rigs don't even exist yet...they are simply permits pulled. What Jindal is worried about is the royalties his state gets from the rigs. He's afraid with the feds noisying around that that source of revenue might be diminished.

We've learned that deepwater BOP's have a 45% failure rate, and BP has demonstrated that as far as fixing it, these wells might as well be on the moon!

Its not surprising........the Gulf states have been playing Russian Roulette for years. There is a reason most western states have banned offshore drilling.

It's so friggin OBVIOUS that there are MANY more wells sitting out there like time bombs, waiting to fail and leak, and these morons want there to be MORE without correcting the underlying problems first. What the frak are they THINKING?

LA is corrupt and stupid. The state is a 'ho and its politicians are its pimps.

CJ posted once that TX took the oil revenues and developed new industries. LA has spent their monies on Mardi Gras.
