CJ, > There isn't anything obviously nonsensical about it. ... Are viruses alive? At what point is something "alive"?

Apply that question to your own existence.

Maybe then you'll realize just how nonsensical it is to blur the line between life and viruses.

the notion that life can begin from chemistry."

There isn't anything obviously nonsensical about it. Scientists have already shown that we can synthesis DNA that can run a cell's machinery.

Whether or not humans can synthesize something or not is irrelevant. There weren't any laboratories and scientists around when life began.

Even if humans can someday design life, that will only be more evidence that life is designed.
