The wellbore is 13,000 feet long. "Can it ever be stopped?" People h/b killing wells for about as long as they've been drilling them. Saddam blew up every oil well in Kuwait, left them all flaming and they were all put out. Ixtoc was killed. This one will be too.

I hope BP burns up all of their assets with this mess. They deserve to be kicked out of our sandbox!
