Zimbabwe was in depression since 1980 thanks to their printing
and other economic efforts, with 94-95% unemployment. So,
let's hope Ben will wise up regarding his plans to use
the printing press whenever we get in trouble.

Russia also got into depression in the early 90-s, with real
GDP dropping 50%. The ruble lost 4 zeroes.

In this new age of fiat money this outcome is far more common,
and great many European countries experienced it in the 20-th
century, some a few times.
