There is indeed a great amount of folklore which associates some diseases with intelligence or wealth, but actual documentation is scant.

Allied with an analysis of how Homo sapiens has spread out of Africa and around the world, this will give a fine-grained picture of human evolution—and possibly a controversial one if differences between geographical groups emerge in sensitive areas such as intelligence and behaviour. Such phenotypic areas are also being investigated in studies looking at variation within populations, for GWAS is being extended beyond the realm of disease to examine intelligence, personality type, religiosity and even the ability to make money.

As the cost of genome sequencing falls dramatically (see below) we are going to set the intelligence record straight.

A decade after the human-genome project, writes Geoffrey Carr (interviewed here), biological science is poised on the edge of something wonderful

If intelligence is THE weapon for survival, we weeded out all stupid idiots that tried to compete with us in the last couple of 100.000 years.

Thus we are the summit of intelligence of living things.

The problem is that "intelligence weeding out of idiots" has stopped as we started with social conventions that allows for everyone to survive.
Thus we have to keep up with the nonsensical.
