I believe Schraeder has Founders Complex and we are all suffering for it. In its advanced stages, FC renders the afflicted individual impervious to market realities, hardening his ego in a manner akin to arterial sclerosis. The market is discounting PSIX for Chairman Bill's maniacal hold on PSIX' reins. He will NOT be offered a COO position in the acquiring firm (like his nemeis, UUnet's Sidgemore at WCOM). His credibility is in tatters after numerous earnings shortfalls. He is detested by the Wall Street analyst community (mind you, not an altogether bad thing).

In short, we the shareholders are being dragged along in this ugly exercise of hubris and overweaning pride. How bad can it get?

Look at how the Haft family feud almost destroyed the Dart group. Reasonable minds need not intervene, particularly in a closely held company like PSINet. "Market forces" can be held at bay for a long time (by this I mean management reshuffling, board reconstitution, etc.) Right now, the market is screaming on this one through the only recourse it has: the share price. "Stay away!" it is saying.

This kind of thing cen get v-e-r-y ugly.
